We spend a lot of time washing repellant multi-coloured glue-like blobs of pigeon droppings off the paving stones under our huge pine tree, especially from November until the Spring. Judging by the colours, the pigeons are eating something green (Claire's cabbages?) but also something dark purple (sloes?) something white and frothy and something black (blackberries?)
They seem to have spent much of their time this summer in my compost heap, of all places. Were they by any chance eating woodlice?
What do wood pigeons eat besides grass, ivy berries and my cabbages?
