It was Pauline Moore's wish for a wood to be planted on the northern edge of the land she bequeathed to BWT. Sharon Bayne produced a comprehensive planting scheme for native species; oak, ash, birch, cherry, hazel, field maple and hawthorn. Carefully coded planting canes made it easy to plant the right seedling trees (called "whips") in the right places, and after four days work by over 80 helpers in December 2013 the area was transformed.
